Details of 'Mirror' from the Temperance 3/5 Collection
The circular etched mirror is a collage detail taken from the driven voids which are sectioned in two halves, light and dark. With relevance to Steven Holl’s Reid building, Briggs & Cole were interested in notions of ‘access’ to daylight and how extreme the gradation from light to dark relies heavily on the surfaces of object/image. Situated within the gallery, our main intention was to provide direct connectivity with other designs within the collection as well as the outside world via different reflections (the Mackintosh building and people on the street).

Thought we would share a rather nice book which features the Briggs & Cole monogram logo.
